Milla Holt: Inspirational Christian Romance

Milla Holt: Inspirational Christian Romance

Two Free Christian Romances I Personally Recommend

Book Recommendations, Giveaways

Free romance is everywhere online.
Good free Christian romance? That’s rarer.

From time to time, authors offer one of their books free so readers can get a sample of the kind of stories they write — a bit like those cheese cubes at Costco. A small taste, no pressure, just a chance to see if you like the flavour.

I’m taking part in something like that right now, and instead of overwhelming you with a long list of titles, I want to highlight two I’ve personally read and genuinely enjoyed.

If you’re looking for thoughtful, faith-rooted stories with emotional depth (not just surface-level sweetness), these are worth your time.

🌙 In the Midst of a Starry Night by Latisha Sexton

In the Midst of a Starry Night by Latisha Sexton

Looking for a sweet romance with real emotional depth?

This novella surprised me with how much heart it packed into its pages.

Shaniece Green has every reason not to trust football players. When one particularly persistent jock pushes her too far at the restaurant where she works, she loses her temper—and her job. But Jamar Johnson isn’t like the others. He’s been too nervous to even speak to her for months, and he’s the only one who tried to defend her that night.

What unfolds is a tender story about trust, healing, and learning to believe in love again. Shaniece carries trauma from her past that makes opening her heart feel impossible. Jamar is patient, genuine, and willing to wait—but can his steadiness be enough?

This isn’t fluff (though there are definitely swoony moments under the stars). Sexton handles difficult subject matter with care while giving us characters worth rooting for.

Note: There are references to past trauma, including childhood sexual abuse, so check your readiness. But if you’re looking for a faith-filled romance that doesn’t shy away from hard realities while still delivering hope and a satisfying happily-ever-after, this one’s a strong choice.

It’s also a quick read—perfect for a cosy evening.

☕ The Road Home by Honey Stone

The Return Home by Honey Stone

If you prefer your romance gentle, reflective, and quietly faith-filled, this novella may be exactly what you’re in the mood for.

When Carla returns to her small hometown to care for her mother through a devastating MS diagnosis, she expects isolation and grief. What she doesn’t expect is Leyla’s Café—a hidden courtyard oasis where she finds her table, her rhythm, and eventually, her voice again.

The Road Home is about the season when everything falls apart and somehow, quietly, begins to come together.

It’s about:

  • The neighbour’s dog that won’t stop escaping.
  • The café owner who notices when you’re struggling.
  • The man at the next table you’ve never spoken to but somehow feel connected to.
  • Feeling forgotten by God—and the slow, surprising ways He shows up anyway.

Honey Stone writes Carla’s crisis with tenderness and honesty: the anger at unanswered prayers, the loneliness of caregiving, the ache of deferred dreams. The romance builds through shared silences and everyday proximity, not dramatic fireworks.

There’s sweetness here. And hope. And the kind of ending that makes you believe good things can grow from hard seasons.
