Well, that’s my theory, anyway, being a real life middle child. 😅 My novels, Within the Storm and Lessons Learned in Love, find themselves right in the center of their series, often overshadowed by their attention-grabbing siblings!

Within the Storm is a tender 'he falls first' story about a man willing to sacrifice his own happiness to protect the woman he loves. Lessons Learned in Love is about a man who’s fought tooth and nail for every opportunity and a woman who wants to prove her own worth despite having everything handed to her.

Do you enjoy it when authors share pictures of their character inspiration for their books? Whether it’s photos or celebrity look-alikes, some readers love getting that extra insight.

Or, are you the type who prefers to let your own imagination paint the picture of each character as you dive through the pages?

A key aspect of my writing process involves curating images that vividly embody my characters exactly the way I see them in my head. This visual aid not only helps me to flesh out scenes but also guides the way characters speak and react. Sometimes, I think it might be fun to share these.

However, I recognise that unlike movies or TV shows, one of the unique charms of reading is the freedom it gives you to conjure up your own visions of characters and settings. I wonder if sharing my visual inspirations might limit this personal exploration for readers.

📚😅 Are you guilty of these bookish bad habits? I can't be the only one who bends the 'rules' of reading in one way or another. Here are my bookish bad habits:

1. Reading reviews with spoilers! - Sometimes I just can't help but look for clues at how things might unfold

2. Flipping to the end to make sure everything ends up okay. If I can't find a spoilery review or don't have time to look for one, I sometimes fast-forward to ensure my heart stays intact. 😅

3. Reading a series out of order. - Because sometimes, the latest book just jumps off the shelf at you!

Wow, what just happened?! This Monday turned out

Wow, what just happened?!

This Monday turned out to be a day to remember. My book, Amid the Ashes won in the Short Contemporary category at the Faith Hope and Love Reader’s Choice Awards!

I turned up to the awards announcement on Zoom at half past midnight UK time, thinking I’d just clap for my fellow authors and soak in the inspiration. Then, they called my book as the winner! I was totally floored—shocked, humbled, and over the moon happy. At that moment, I was too stunned to say much, so here are the thank yous I couldn’t manage then.

A huge thank you to Faith, Hope, & Love Christian Writers for their amazing work in supporting authors and lifting up romantic fiction written from a Christian worldview.

Thanks to all the readers who pored over so many fantastic entries. Choosing must have been a tough job from such a talented pool.

Big love to my critique partners who were there for every brainstorm and every “what-if” that helped weave this story. And to my incredible readers—your support means the world to me and then some. Thank you also to my Mosaic Collection sisters for inviting me into the family, for the support, encouragement and inspiration.

Above everything, I thank God, because without Him, none of this would make sense or even be possible.

A dear reader, who has since become a friend, called me out when I revealed that I had written a romance about a Christian recording artist who faces the consequences of a one-night stand. My friend worried that my story might glamorize premarital intimacy and unplanned pregnancy.

I want to clarify: that was never my intention.

My passion lies in exploring how Christians navigate their faith through life’s toughest moments—how they handle failures, and yes, even when they fall short of God’s expectations. Christians are humans, and humans make mistakes. Humans fall far short of God’s standards.

But here’s where the beauty of grace and redemption shines through. Home Town Melody is a celebration of God’s ability to restore and heal repentant hearts.

It’s coming out on July 24th.

Today marks 80 years since the D-Day landings of June 6, 1944 - the largest seaborne invasion in history that turned the tide of World War II in Europe.

On this solemn anniversary, we honour the incredible bravery and sacrifice of the Allied troops who stormed the heavily fortified beaches of Normandy. Nearly 160,000 American, British, Canadian, and Free French soldiers put their lives on the line, many making the ultimate sacrifice to help liberate Europe from Nazi occupation.

The D-Day invasion was a logistical and operational marvel, overcoming tremendous odds against the determined Nazi defenses. The heroic actions on those Norman beaches allowed the Allies to gain a foothold in France and begin the arduous campaign to defeat Hitler's forces.

As we commemorate this pivotal battle, let us remember the young men who left their homes to face unfathomable terrors on the beaches of Omaha, Utah, Gold, Juno and Sword. Their courage in the face of withering enemy fire will forever inspire us.

We owe an immense debt of gratitude to these D-Day heroes, as well as all WWII veterans who fought to protect our democratic freedoms and liberate the oppressed peoples of Europe. Their legacy endures as a testament to the triumph of human resolve over tyranny.
